The story behind Dajata

Meet Jess

Kia ora, I'm Jess

I've been obsessed with horses for as long as I can remember. Dajata Equine is the result of a lifetime spent learning from them: what makes them comfortable, what helps them understand, and what builds real trust between horse and human.

From my base in Waikite Valley, just outside Rotorua, I work with horses of every age and stage: green youngsters taking their first steps, off-the-track thoroughbreds starting a new career, competition horses chasing their best, and much-loved companions who simply deserve to feel good.

I've learned that training, physical comfort and emotional wellbeing can't be separated. A horse that's sore can't relax, and a horse carrying old worries can't give you their best. That's why I bring together schooling and coaching with massage therapy, energy healing and the Emotion Code, so every horse gets the support they actually need.

Most of all, I love helping owners build partnerships that last, with horses who are healthy, riders who are confident, and a bond that grows stronger every ride.

What I believe

Horse first

Every session is guided by how the horse is feeling on the day.

Kind & correct

Clear, fair methods that build understanding, not just obedience.

Whole horse

Body, mind and emotion, because they are all connected.
